Preparation for First Eucharist and Reconciliation
Children over the age of seven who have been baptized,accompanied by their families,may take the next step in the Initiation process and prepare for First Eucharist.
Our guidlines for the Sacraments follows those put forth by the Archdiocese.
FIRST EUCHARIST IS A JOINT EFFORT BETWEEN PARENTS & CATECHISTS
The child must be in the program and faith of the community for two years or more
The Sacrament of Reconcilation must be celebrated before First Eucharist with ample time between the sacraments to distinguish between the two (CCC #1457) (GCD, Addendum 5)
The candidate must demonstrate an active, regular life of prayer
Candidates must participate regularly in Sunday Liturgy
Understand the Real Presence& parts of the mass
Participate in faith formation classes on a regular basis
Child have a desire to receive Jesus in the Eucharist
For older children (ages 7-14) who need preparation for the sacraments of Baptism and/or Eucharist and Reconciliation, we offer special RCIA Adapted for Children classes as part of our faith formation program.

Eucharistic Ministers to the Sick If you or someone in your family is ill or homebound and would like to receive Communion, arrangements can be made for a Eucharistic Minister to the Sick to visit. Please call Theresa Chenlouie at 415-205-2394.
