Saint Bartholomew’s Confirmation preparation program for youth is a
two-year program

CONFIRMATION 1st YEAR is available to any student, 7th* or 8th grade and older, who is ready to explore preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. It is focused on growing the student’s knowledge of the faith.
*7th graders must be pre-approved.

CONFIRMATION 2nd YEAR - Open to Students 8*/9th grade and older who have completed Confirmation First Year
*8th graders must be pre-approved.

*CHILDREN in Grades 3-6: POLICY ENHANCEMENT: If a child attends (75% of classes) in grades 3-6, he/she may enter Confirmation 1st Year as a 7th grader and receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in 8th grade.

Confirmation Readiness as put forth from the Archdiocese
- The candidate must demonstrate an active and regular life of prayer
- Candidates must participate regularly in Sunday Liturgy
- Participate in the life of the parish community
- Understand the role of the Holy Spirit and discipleship in their lives
- Participate in faith formation on a regular basis
- Have a desire to receive the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and act with them for mission
- Demonstrate a Christian life of virtue and service
ST. BART'S CONFIRMATION 2nd YEAR Requirements: Over the course of one year
- Attendance at Weekly Mass
- Beginning of the Year Mass on Sunday, Sept. 17th at 9 a.m.
- Ten 2-hour Sunday Classes, followed by 5 p.m. Mass
- One weekend Retreats for Candidates
- Attendance at the Parish Reconciliation Services during Advent and Lent
- 10-Hours of Service to Parish and Community
- VIRTUS Safety Training
